I spoke to Steve today and he said that Cat fractured a vertebrae in her back last night at Stead. Fortunately she should make a full recovery after awhile in a brace. They plan to go home from the hospital by tomorrow.
Get well soon, Cat.

Cat is one tough lady! Cat I am so glad it was not what we thought.
By the way everyone Cat was flying in that race, she got the hole shot with 9 riders and was in 3rd place with one lap to go. The only trouble is she found the throttle in the Triple Double section and tried to do a back flip. Check out tagmx site! He got great pictures of it.
Cat was on the EMT cart and TAGMX showed her the pictures.

I just got off the phone with Cat, she is in good spirits and a little high on pain meds to. She told me that she will be getting out on Tuesday morning, as long as she gets her turtle shell on by then.

Thank you everyone! The first couple of weeks will be tender and then I should be getting back on my feet. The excitement before the crash was awesome!

You broke your neck and consider weeks to come to be tender?
Cat are you realy OK?
The pictures of that crash are just nasty, come on, pull those pictures, screw the people who wish to rubber neck an accident like that.
Hip hip hooray, thats what all this arenacross spectator garbage has been about anyhow, people filling the stands wanting only to see us crash and burn.
Enough is enough, pull up the injury lists, these NMXD Summer night race Arenacross events lead to more broken necks than any other races out there, why is that? Who cares, lets fix it already.
What broke necks last year? Steep drop offs over berms at Carson was the on going killer amongst all the MX West tracks that year. When questioned I was priveatly told to shut up, I'd attrack ambulance chasers, berms move, tough luck.
This year I guess we're cursed with the other NMXD regular hazard, straight up jump faces that don't just put you over a jump but instead straight up into the air. Spectators love it, racers loop out and break their necks on it. I've ridden several tracks, only seems t be though the NMXD tracks that I've also ever had a problem of looping out on.
It's killing me to see Cat get hurt, I bumped my ownself out of that class just so our racers like Cat could stand a better chance in getting some wins and encouragement.
It's killing me to see one of my own very close friends get hurt on a track I know first hand Ty designs with steep faced jumps just because he likes the way the spectators get to see people jumping high going over them.
NMXD seems to somehow hold the record of devolping the tracks with more broken necks than any other track promoter I can find.
Find another promoter who holds more broken necks on their tracks and prove me wrong.

WOW! I won the bet. I knew within a week you would post something negative about Stead. Oh, by the way Stead isn't arena cross. Obviously, as usual you were not in attendance at the race so you would not know that.
Cat herself will tell you her accident was pilot error, too much gas not enough brake.
For your information Tony, I had heard a comment from someone near and dear to you that they thought the track was dangerous. So, I went and asked 20-25 riders their opinion. I wasn't seeing it as a dangerous track and was a little worried about Robert getting hurt two weeks in a row. I spoke with Pro's, Intermediates, Juniors, Beginners, and a few old fart's. Not one person thought the track was dangerous. There was one spot on the backside that didn't have enough light and I believe that was fixed. Robert thought the track was fun, he even went back out there on Tuesday and had a blast on it.
It is obvious that you dislike Ty, no matter what NMXD does it will be wrong in your eyes. You are so biased it makes your opinion carry no weight, you don't matter in the scheme of things.
Jerry and Tara are very nice people. Too, nice! You will have them out of business with regards to racing within the year and that is sad, they don't deserve it.
In the weeks preceding my resignation from Mustang, I was inundated with people telling me they would not race Mustang as long as you were affiliated with it. I never received even one positive comment regarding your involvement with Mustang.
You could change that if you wanted. All it would take is for you to show, you are truly in this for the sport and stop with the negativity. Trying to tear down another promoter does not help Mustang or yourself, it just proves how petty you can be.
It's weird, in person you are the nicest guy. You don't say anything bad about anyone. The minute you get behind the keyboard it's like Jekyll and Hyde.
The riders just want to race, they don't want to hear all your negative comments and really do you think by bashing NMXD you're going to have effect on the rider or spectator count. Get over yourself.
Oh, by the way just because someone disagrees with you, it hardly makes them a sheep.

Didn't see or hear of any injuries myself besides Cat--and I'm not sure that she would agree with your hip-shot analysis of the dangers of steep jumps and--gasp--"Steep drop offs over berms." The track layout was actually pretty sweet. Perhaps you'd care to have a look at the next one before you critique it. Don't be afraid--I'll help you with the whole looping-out thing. You broke your neck and consider weeks to come to be tender? Cat are you realy OK? Tony,
Did you notice the Race Talk when you weren't posting anything? The topics were great, the comments were POSITIVE. Please take up another sport and quit ruining Northern Nevada's reputation by your unhappiness with life. Stead was a great night, it was wonderful to see everyone together having a fantastic time. The spectator turnout was incredible. The track was great and my son and his friends had no complaints what-so-ever!
Cat just happened to have a little mishap with over-kill on the throttle but she's a great trooper and will through this bump in the road. She's soooooo tough, she even took a test while in the hospital.

Always remember that some people are not here for the riders. They are here to have fun at others expense. You can never take what Tony has to say with any validity behind it. The key here is what everyone says about him. Nice guy in person but when he is behind the keyboard then he is a different person. His post here back in September shows this. The only problem with him is he never knows when to stop. Sept 9, 2005, 9:10pm, Preston 915 wrote: "Why can't we be friends, why cant we be friends, why cant we be friends, why cant we be friends? " He he he, Preston, thats the funny part, off this board we are all very good friends. I'm at total fault for being the one that screws everything up here, I'll be the first to admit that and I'm sure they all agree with that much. I just can't help it, I've been a rebel behind the key board for so long now that its a hard habbit for me to break. The worse part is, I have no intention of breaking that habbit. I'm just a non conformist, the man can't bring me down, lets go head to head thought for thought battle it out for blood lunatic behind my keyboard. But dam I have fun doing it. The sheep will never understand. Worse than the worse part, I don't care so long as I'm having fun here, and I am

Yep, I was pretty pumped in the last lap and miscalculated. The track was technical, but still rock steady with beginners. And Tony, it isn't my neck area that broke. Right in the middle of my back T-10 vertebra. Doc says it should heal nicely with this $*%&@#* turtle shell. I'll be back to ride again.
