Back in 2005-06 I was fed up with the AMA allowing the factories interfere in amateur raceing. They told us hang in there big changes are coming , nothing changed. We thought well when ya turn pro well all be on the same playing field. Nothing could be farther from the truth. As ive said many times AMA pro racing is nothing more than a traveling show. When Joe Gibbs entered the picture the AMA told us strict nascar type rules were going to level things for all riders, didn't happen. How can you go to sponsors an ask for help when you aren't allowed to purchase all the parts needed to have competitive equipment. Some companies don't know but the ones that do are harming the entire sport. This can only happen by the AMA so they can line their pockets with corporate money. By allowing only their select few they are all but guaranteed top 10 finishes the entire season. So the big company sponsors have a rock solid deal their names will be on tv constantly. The rest of the pro's are left with begging for a living hopeing for that magical factory ride where you actually get to race, well at least with the other rides with equipment no one else is allowed to have. As corrupt as many unions have become; I see nothing will ever change until their is a riders union and that cant happen unless one of these elete factory riders is willing to step forward and expose the dirty secret which will cost them their big money salarys for the sake of great competition and fair pay for all pros. And now you know some more of the rest of the story , good day Ron USA.
