The photo Mr. Moto put up awhile back--the one with his sweet '87 CR125 and orange AXO duds--got me thinking about the past of motocross fashion. And when it occurred to me that a lot of us have been moto-ing for awhile, I thought it might be fun for each of us to post up some of our best old-school photos. You know, like the one where you're wearing the Thor Fast Boyz gear and putting on your best Rick Johnson sneer? But I thought my plea to see these photos might flop if I didn't make a sacrificial lamb of myself, so here goes: Nothing like a school picture day to show off your moto habit. Sweet JT Racing jersey? Check. Ron Lechien-replica mullet? Check. Gnarly toothless smile? Check, check, check. But I didn't just go around posing for photos in my jersey. Oh, you better believe I backed it up at the racetrack: And after my moto, there was always time for a little freeriding: Alright then. I can probably dig up some more, but I want to see some others of you first. Let's have 'em--I know a lot of you rocked the Fox spider-web gear in 1990, so there's no point hiding the photos now.

How many years to grow into that helmet? ;D You think it's funny, but you obviously didn't spend your childhood supporting a helmet that would pull you to the ground if you lost your balance while wearing it. I remember when you were "Bobby".....now you are all grown up and are/is? Robert.............. I'm still Bobby to many and I don't mind that at all. I'm just accustomed to signing Robert to documents and stories and such, so I answer to both easily. And, unfortunately, if you yell out "Hey stupid" in a public place, I will likely turn my head as well. I just can't get used to that joke. And I'd love to see the old photos. Put 'em on a scanner and e-mail them to me and I'll put them online so we can all see.

No takers? Am I going to be the only one to show off my mullet and mismatched gear?
And this isn't just for the vets. I know we have some kids on here, and my guess is they too started with some equally unruly duds. So post those too. Don't make me break out the photos from my pink-gear phase to keep this post going...

I am not afraid Robert. This is from 1970 at Glamis in SoCal. Homemade Minibike with no gear. I think they made gear back then but who knew you needed it. Oh how times have changed!!!

Is that a leather jacket with those spiffy stripes? You are going to be banned from this thread if you don't cough up some embarassing photos of yourself soon.
