Has anyone ever had an ankle impingement? It's pain in the front of the ankle at the bend from the bones hitting each other or squishing the tissue. It can happen from sudden or repetitive hyper-flexion (toes up, heel down) such as from landing hard or whoops.
Anyway, if you have had it, what treatment did you have? Would you go the same route again? Same doc again?
Thanks

I went to an ortho and he said I have an extra bone next to the bone above the arch and that that can lead to pain. Apparently something like 10% of the population has it. I had an MRI and the doc said it looked like it was still just trying to heal. More physical therapy. Nothing helped until I got a larger and sturdier pair of boots. Now I rarely have pain unless I hit a bump weird. My old boots were small and snug, but that made them tight around the front of my ankle so maybe they were pushing bones into places they didn't want to be. Anyway, it seems to slowly be getting better. Hope that helps and I hope your ankle gets better!

I ended up with an impact break to my tibia. I didn't find out until almost 3 weeks after it happened after another xray was done. The doctor had told me it was just sprained walk it off. Needless to say I was pretty upset he had me walking on a broken ankle that whole time. It still hurts and this happened first week of June.
