Hey guys ... there is two Races coming up at Stead back to back weekends October 28th and Nov. 4th ..both events have Sat. practice 9am - 2pm.
But the nature of this thread is to get some imput going...So, I thought I would throw out some questions to see what ideas you all may have.
Hopefully we get to make some nice changes out there and are open to suggestions.
1. Do you like the long downhiill/uphill? 2. Do you think it should be slower or faster? 3. Less technical or more obstacles? 4. Counter clockwise or clockwise?

Hey Ty, I would like to see the uphill/downhill bowl used, fast track, big jumps, WFO turns, and plenty of loam. Since this will be my first race in close to three years I could care less, I just wanna ride the legend - STEAD ROCKS!!! Jonny B.

Lots of turns and jumps. If I want to set a land-speed record, I'll go to the salt flats with some sort of rocket-propelled bike. 3. More obstacles. See answer #2. 4. Clockwise, because a change would be nice.

Larry Wosick said it best “There isn’t many tracks any more that you can get in fifth gear and that the challenge is the lay out of the land.”
“I took a piece of each track I like, that I raced over the years and made into one.”
Stead has many natural features, with the hills, off cambers. In which a can offer good technical sections.
I believe that the amount of jumps is fine, it might be a little on the too many side. The majority of them are made for all levels of riding abilities. They are not do or die.
Either direction is good but counter clockwise is a direction I like.
1. down hill 2. fast sections with a mix of slow 3. more natural obstacles, that would equal technical sections 4. whatever, either direction is good

Use Steads natural features more, fewer man-made obstacles. Bring back the bowl.

Bring back the bowl, where you could jump into it, and jump out of it!

alot of people can jump...that is why there are freestylers that we not as successful at racing. make it fast and technical without having to use arenacross jumps for obstacles. flat track corners 5th pinned S turns where you only use body english and some bar dragging berms, actually some big rolling whoops would even be nice down a big long stretch.

Those rolling whoops before the finish were the best thing ever put in there, it made the dash for the finish more interesting, plus it lets the better riders excel. I am all for the track being fast in spots, but the problem with stead is that it usually does not get very rough so the fewer jumps/bumps you have it can turn into a road race course.
Just my 2 cents.

How many times have I posted "My bike came with a fifth gear and I want to use it."

1. Do you like the long downhiill/uphill? Yes 2. Do you think it should be slower or faster? Fast mostly, but include plenty of slow 3. Less technical or more obstacles? More jumps, maybe throw in a couple doubles or triples? 4. Counter clockwise or clockwise? i say clockwise.
also if you decide clockwise direction.. after the start there would be that uphill, you should make a step up goin up the hill? just and idea

i think you should make more sections like the one before the finish! that section is so awesome and seperates the skill levels of all competition! the rest of the track i think is amazing! just a little bit more technical sections i think will make the track just that much better!

The rolling whoops before the finish were awesome. Fifth gear tapped straights and you should make a kicker into the bowl like the one to side of that uphill. only bigger!
