This was on usmotocross.com.and motonews........"Chad Reed’s day started off pretty well when he led the pack for a few laps in moto one. When Ricky ultimately got by, Reed didn’t give up, and fought back. That’s when it all started to go bad; Reed’s Yamaha began to lose its head pipe. You could definitely hear his bike popping heavily as he went over some of the biggest jumps on the Millville track. Reed exhibited lots of heart as he held on to take third. How upset was Chad? When podium go-to-girl Cassie put his Yamaha hat on his head, he threw it to the ground. Thanking all his sponsors a few minutes later, I never heard the word “Yamaha” mentioned." what a way not to be! Reed is such a fool, he think if he did have bike problems he could keep up with RC or Bubba...What a fool! And to not be thankful....what a jerk!

I hope for Reed's sake that this report was exaggerated. If not, that's pretty low. Not sure I'd want to be his mechanic, either.

He's stuck in a very frustrating position and has been for some time now. A lot of aggrivation building up race after race after race, always good enough to beat everyone else, but still always finishing in that number 3 spot.
He's had his share of mechanical issues on Yamaha's as well adding to the aggrivation, probably not a very good move as a professional, but you still can't blame him for where his aggrivation level must be, especialy at that particular moment.
I'll bet his attitude issues of late would change if he went to Honda, or if Honda would even take him.

if your head pipe fell off youd be pretty pissed too, espescially at his level where its not his responsibility to make sure the head pipe stays on. i think you guys just dont like chad reed, in fact i know so because all you do is worship the guy who wins, RC and Bubba, you need to give him a break, if you dont like him just say it and be done with it, you dont see me coming on here and posting everything bad about the riders i dislike. gee i wonder if anyone posted anything about how RC openly insulted bubba last year because of his landing on him. wait a second, nope no one did.

I dont just like RC for his winning ways, it how he conducts himself in an interviews and with his fans. He isnt afraid to say if another rider puts in a good ride. You ever notice during an interview its not always about him? He speaks of his competition and how well they rode? And that he is having fun with the other riders, much like Millville when Vuilly and RC are shaking hands.
Other riders that have carried them selves the same way I have liked to.....Ricky Johnson and Jeremy McGrath.

I like Chad Reed. He's clearly a superb rider and he seems by most indications to be a decent guy. But I was disappointed to see him behave so callously toward his team--especially since the failure likely didn't even cost him a position.

My only question is how does a head pipe fall off?

Failure to use hi-temp loctite and/or safety wire. Those two nuts come loose, and there is nothing holding it on.

but it did cost him a position, from everything i've read, reed was far enough in front of stewart after stewarts crash that he would not have been able to catch reed, in the long run it didn't matter because the second moto reed dislocated his shoulder and now has to have surgery

Keith, even if we do like Reed,(which i respect him as a racer but he's not my favorite) It's still wrong to do tht to a company thats supported him with everything for years now,I'll admit I'd be upest too but that's not an excuse. And like what Layne said, not everyone likes RC just because he wins, atleast real racers and riders dont just like him cuz he wins.

preston, its not that i don't like RC, he's the best rider there is bar none, but every podium speech ive heard from him sounds exactly the same, he says how great the track or how tricky or difficult it was, how great the other two people on the podium rode and then he thanks his sponsors, in every podium speech ive heard him give its all the same. this is where jeremy mcgrath and ricky johnson differed, they both said what the wanted to say, and they werent afraid to call people out on the podium or in the pits.

Keith…dude, what are you talking about? You weren’t even old enough to remember watching Ricky Johnson or know what he did. He was retired before you could walk on your own! And if you were to take note in the later years of McGrath’s racing career he spoke much the same as RC does now. Think about how important it is to speak with some intelligence and not talk down to others or about your competition. In speaking like this you learn to become a better champion and that is what separates them from the others. Lets face it Reed only became the supercross champ do to the fact he had no competition. RC was out, Bubba was racing the 125 class and nobody else was at that level. I’m not say Reed didn’t earn it either, I’m just saying he had it a whole lot easier than others have. I think Reed is a great rider he just has a bad attitude when things aren’t just right and is quick to blame others. I have a question…..he has won a world title, why can’t he win a national title over here? Think about it, if RC wasn’t racing Reed could have been the champ this year….. Calling people out is very professional either
