Great poster photo. Wish I could have been there. That track was my journalistic basic training and I covered a lot of motorcross and oval track racing there. Still miss those late night rides back home when the full moon was shining. Used to come back via Eastlake and just enjoy the scenery.

Why in the heck did you have to bring that up Mark? Yes, my unhappy face is in that crowd. That day was very emotional for me. I have been going to T-Car speedway since I was a Kid. All the Saturday nights watching Ed Evans tear that place up! And being there on the last day and seeing Ed Evans there also, was very hard for me.

You know Gil, I have those same memories. It was such an easier time back then being a kid. We all hung out at the same places. Thats why I think, Mustang should put on a race every week (Pick any Day or night of the week). That would give a lot of people something to do, and have fun being around racing.

Rick, Did you happen to go to that Blue Oyster Cult concert at T-Car back in 1978?

Carson was great, but there are more good days ahead. I think that too many people are too dedicated for motocross not to thrive locally.
There are some problems now, but there are still lots of things I look forward to, such as this weekend's Ride Day and the opening of Ty's track in Minden.
Plus riding is just as enjoyable in the middle of political turmoil as it is in lighter times. I tend to forget about the petty things when I am on a good bike on a good track.

Sorry to hijack your thread Mark. What about the Reno Fair Grounds in the 70's, Flat Track, T/T and Scrambles racing, that was pretty fun.

Every Wednesday night. The smell of those alcohol burning Jawa 500's with no brakes!! Larry's dad was a racer in those!

I'm a little slow. But, is the famous "Ed Evans" we used to watch as kids, the same Ed Evans, as the Siminoe's Grandpa?
