If you want to read the article in the Sparks Tribune about this weekend's race at Mustang go to: www.dailysparkstribune.com then open up the sports. Scroll down and you should find it. The article will only be on the site for another day or so. And the photos I took at Mustang are on my site. Go to: www.lakemanphotos.photoreflect.com and look for Mustang 11/16/2008. You can even order prints from that site. Had a great time and see all of you in the New Year. Have a wonderful holiday season.

How come nobody is talking about this? This is huge! During the day track owner Shane Kisman announced that in 2009 the Silver Peak MX series would become GFI Nevada, although the series will still operate those events.
GFI is a California series that brings factory contingency money and he hopes a few of the events here will also have that funding.
"The spring series will have from six to seven races," Kisman said. "Out of that we'll pick the top 15 riders, or 10, from each class and have two shootouts that pit both riders from California as well as Nevada. This should mean from 20 to 30 racers in each moto.
"One of the shootouts will be in Prairie City while the other will be here at the Mustang Motor Plex."
Next year, the Silver Peak series will race at Mustang, the fairgrounds in Susanville, Honey Lake Motocross Park and at the Stead motocross track.
He also indicated that there wouldn't be any racing at Mustang next summer but he'll be promoting two watercraft events. One is called, "A Lap Around Lake Tahoe" while the other will be at Lake Lahontan.
For now all the racers will be waiting for the final points to be counted, including those from Honey Lake. Then the championships will be awarded.
