Jake, The track was the same as it ever was, must have been your first time. Thanks for your unbiased opinion, but why don't you keep it on www.norcalmotocross.com.

Jake, how many times have you rode this track? Just curious! Stead is always great even when it goes the wrong way as Tony would say. Stead is the best track in Nevada as far as I am concern. Ty put a lot of effort in making it that way. Don't try and take that credit from him. If it was not for Ty resurrecting the tract about 6 years ago then yesterday would not of happen.

Not that Ty didn't work hard and do a good job on the Stead track when he did it, but it was groomed better than I've ever seen it. Funny how people who weren't even there are so quick to pipe off and attempt to attack others who were there and who have ridden the track plenty of times when Ty has groomed it.
There was a huge difference in the way the track surface was prepaired last weekend then how it's prepaired when Ty does it. At least the last two times Ty has held a race at that track when I was there they have just disced the track surface up into huge helmet size clumps of hard dirt. The only smooth lines were the ones formed by people taking the same llines initialy over the clumps and packing them down into a single line which everyone then rode on the entire day, leaving a single line and huge clumps od disc dirt on the sides and most of the track surface.
The track surface Sunday was NOTHING like when Ty has done it. There wasn't a large clump of dirt or a rock that I seen anywhere on the track surface from the start to the finish. There were no deep mud holes that sucked bikes into them between the jump faces or anywhere else on the track. The last NMXD race at Stead I was at they had to place flaggers on the mud holes because the track had been so over watered people were going down in the deep mud between the jumps and the little bikes couldn't make it through it at all, they had to be routed around the bad spots. I'd hardly call that grooming the track to perfection.
Last Sunday was defineatly the best I've ever seen Stead groomed, I won't say Ty's never been able to groom it that well before because I haven't been to every single race he's ever held out there, but the ones I have been to there, plenty enough of them, have never been groomed even close to as well as Scott had it last weekend.

Tony, what a bunch of crap. The track prep at the last 3-4 races Ty had at Stead made the track look like a 2 lane freeway, it was scarey fast. So fast, that I suggested putting a couple whoop sections in just to slow people down. The only differents was the jumps in the back section and the removal of the bowl section. If you really want to know how the boys felt..... well they thought the rythem section sucked and Scott could learn from Ty on how to build jump faces. They did have a good time though.

thank you! to everyone who came out to stead this weekend to enjoy such a awesome place! i hope you racers had a good time.
special thanks to everyone who helped out to make this event possible. i personally felt the track prep was decent, but i did learn a bunch and will do a better job next time. the rythem sections faces were one area i will pay attention to next time.
i would also like to say that it was great to be so welcomed by the nevada locals. stead is a great track and we are very fortunate to be able to have motocross races there. scott davis

It sounds like he is going to do more races at stead. With the limited number of dates that can be run at stead, I think MX West should lock in their dates for next year. If they don't there might not be any MX West races at stead anymore. That is all Nevada needs. One more non-sanctioned promoter running races and splitting the rider base up even more.

Scott, thanks for taking the time to post here for those of us who did support you and enjoyed the track. Our local Pros were there, our Stead diehards were there and we all loved it.
I'll give you the same crap I give Ty, the same crap I give Jerry at every race, make the track bigger, big, big big, no one has ever complained about a track being too big. I love big tracks and as many laps as possible. Lots of laps, major track size equals MX heaven for me.
F the input from the morons that weren't even there, the track was perfect and these idiots were going to try to slam you even if it wasn't. There isn't a single person who tried to post against you here who practices what hey preach, lets just have races. Don't believe anything they try to say, they are all about the politics and it shows right here in their posts, ain't a one of them that just races, most of them don't even race at all, they just slam where they can and talk the crap causing all the problems.
They're a sad minority and not worth your time responding to them because they are set in their thinking and you won't change their minds. It has nothing to do with good racing with them, it's just all about their own personal crap. The true racers who don't care about all their crap showed up and we had a great time, loved the track, good job from someone who was actually there and raced it!

Let me see here! You just called me, Layne & Steve a moron. That is so you Tony. Look, I raced Hawthorne because I am in the series race and so is my son. Hawthorne was a great track. Stead will always be my favorite track. Like I have said many times Tony. "You are the Cancer of Motocross". Why don't you just go play with yourself. I know you are good at that. Motocross was in Nevada was great before you came around. I guess you are the common denominator.
Scott, sorry you did not have the turnout that Stead use to have. Maybe next time try and coordinate with the other Nevada tracks and not have a race on the same day. Maybe you could try and join Nevada instead of competing against Nevada.
Just to let everyone know also, do not take these comments as coming from MxWest. I only do the web site for them. I will be moving to a place where hopefully there are no dumb-asses like Tony there.

guys, we never meant to run against hawthorne! i had to pick that date many months ago through the blm. in the future e street mx will try to run one to two events a year at stead. we will post our dates as soon as possible so that other clubs can come out and enjoy the race . e street mx does not want to thin out NV mx, we want to get more cali guys comin up to reno area races to ADD participants. all of the cali riders had a blast and many mote will come over next time. i told all of the cali riders that this track already exsisted and that i simply prepped a track that Ty did an awesome job in building. i never have or will try to take credit for something i didnt do. i am not interested in credit or big pats on the back. i am interested in watching riders and families enjoy their weekend of racing mx. i do take satisfaction in knowing that i gave 100% of myself to ensure that that would happen. thanks again to every rider and shop that supported stead last weekend. scott davis E STREET MX

Stead was great and it sounds like people enjoyed Hawthorne as well. The Stead race just proved that it really didn't matter who put on the race, the riders came. Period! And there were enough riders that went to Hawthorne. So lets move on everyone, 2007 is fast approaching and when people start playing nice in the sandbox, think of the success! For those of you who have children, when they get in an argument in school, do you tell them to "say sorry" or do you tell them to hold a grudge for weeks or even months? Think about it, life can be easy it you let it.............
