Why just Mustang and honeylake? Honeylake isn't even in Nevada so why make it a part of the series?

Well we attempted to throw one round at stead, but too much drama was coming along with that. We are about racing not drama.....Honeylake is only 45 min. out...and with the struggling economy we are trying to keep racing close to home....
Thanks Krista

How about Fernley? I understand how much hard work you and Shane put in getting this to happen but I think that riding the same tracks over and over will just become boring for the riders. What was the drama with stead?

At Mustang we are willing to work with any and all organizations. We operate our facility as a business and attempt to work with everyone. Some of our other local promoters are very territorial and are not willing to work with others. GFI NV would love to throw a race at Fernley, BUT that is not an option at this time. Honey Lake has been more than willing to run with us when we were Silver Peak and even now that we are GFI. Stead is on BLM land and is available to the public. Our attempt to host an event at stead was going to cause too much drama in the racing community. We can not release certain info. at this time until we have confirmed additional locations and new race regions within our state.

What's wrong with four Mustang races? Better than zero Mustang races. I think we should just be happy that we have tracks to race on.

I agree with Krista, keeping the racing close to home this year is a good idea. Money is REAL tight and it's gonna get worse. I also agree with Ryan, why not multiple races at facilities that we already have. What we have is better than no place at all. Between the two (2) sancitioning bodies (and race schedules) we have 5 different race tracks and an additional one with Stead races, so that is 6 different tracks to go back and forth too and never get bored with one. Support your local tracks this year or possibly have none to support in the near future.............If our local tracks don't get the support we will all suffer. I just read an article that assures us that gas prices are on the way back up and $2.00 gas is very close. Travel and gas will be pramount in our racing decisions this year. Support all the "Home Boys" and have fun racing for less expense.

Krista, shane it is a real shame that people are not willing to work with you guys, on having races at stead and fernely, there only trying to be selfish an in doing so are stunting any growth out of this area, i have often said that with the length of the track and parking room you could hold a national at the fern. But in saying this i also really want to commend you guys for putting out the effort when no one else will. Props to you guys.

This is a classic example of not listening to the riders!........Promotors keep talkin about running things like a business, working with each other , making positive changes for the sport , working for the good of their customers. ...( riders )........Riders want to race series and not long ones like 6 races on different tracks or at least 4 and defantly not back to back on the same track..... They want stiff competition which comes from big rider turn-out.....They want a voice reguarding major rule changes or fees prior to the season start.......Riders want their awards and trophies on time as promised.......Races need to start and finish in a timely mannor.........track prep, layout changes, adequate flaggers go without saying.......The only way this is going to be acomplished in Nevada with our smaller population is to have one orgainization .........Were kidding ourselves otherwise......When we had MX-West it wasnt perfect but we did have awesome racing and a nice family banquet at end of the year......This all ended when one promotor decided on his own to make the Nev-state championship series ...( a best 9 out of 12 races ) to going the whole year....So a kid could basicly finish 4th every race and win the state title because he went to all 25 races........Thats when we all started exploring over the hill cali races.........Riders would rather ride in the hills with their friends for free than be told how lucky they are to have a preped track with no competition.....Of course this my own humble opinion based on my own experiences.....Ron.

This is truly comical To watch the decline of racing in NorNev, because people can't get along at the same time in the sandbox, is Sad Sad Sad!!! I guess you reap what you sew!!!

the people that are making a big deal about racing at Honey Lake i think are just scared of that track, and Mustang as well so suck it up...i hate when people complain about not having any races then when a series comes along they complain about the tracks they have to race on....come one get real.
