I think Reed's the most likely guy here. The rest are fast, but no one else has any big-bike championship credentials. I'll take Short as my Dark Horse pick, though.

I think Grant will take some wins, but he seems to throw it away every so often too. But who knows? He's looked solid so far, so maybe he's ready.

I think Grant can do this. He seems to have the speed, all he needs to do now is not throw it away with bad motos like in Texas.

What about alessi? He smoked everyone at texas. I think he has a valid chance to win. Josh G. is my dark horse. I think Reed in consistent but I do not think he is going to win it. Oooppps I didntt see that Alessi is out. That changes everything.

Are we being a little premature here? Jun 8 2009 9:27PM credit: Simon Cudby Racer X has learned that Rockstar Makita Suzuki's Mike Alessi, current 450 class points leader in the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship, has suffered what is potentially a season ending left knee injury while practicing today in Pennsylvania. Check back tomorrow for more on this breaking story.

BREAKING NEWS-FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MODELL GUNCH RACING ANNOUNCES RACE TEAM
Imlay, NV - Modell Gunch Racing (MGR) has announced its race team for the remainder of the Lucas Oil AMA National Motocross Series. "With all of the unfortunate injuries in the series, we decided to start our team and show the young kids how its done!" said team owner Modell Gunch. "With our great new sponsors, Pabst Blue Ribbon and Frenchs Yellow Mustard, we intend to showcase our sponsors well" added Gunch. Heading up the team is Northern Nevadas own Layne Kolbet. With his knowledge and superior riding ability, Kolbet expects to do well. "I think its time to unleash the beast!" said Kolbet. Kolbet is coming off an unexpected injury, but his lap times at a recent test session prove that his speed and endurance have never been better. Joining Kolbet is another Northern Nevada rider who is coming out of retirement to show the world what the locals have known for years. Kenny Lash will once again be pulling on his boots and proving what "1 down , 4 up" really means. "Coming off the couch is going to be a challenge, but with this great team and sponsors, how can I go wrong?" Lashs speed at a recent test session is proof that the rust will come off soon. "Its great to see some outside sponsors come into the sport" said Lash, adding "plus, I like beer!" Both riders will take the series by storm on identically prepared Honda CRF 450Rs. "With the stellar performance of the new Hondas, it will be like cheating!" joked Kolbet. Look for the team at a race near you, as they take national motocross to the next level.
(disclaimer. this is a joke, a parody, a spoof, if you will. the words typed are not the words of Layne or Kenny. it is intended to get a laugh out of everybody. Modell Gunch isnt even a real person (or is he?) plus, i just wanted to see if i was able to write a press release!)

Hey mxgranpa, he's a new kid, I believe from the Netherlands. Won some local races and now is here due to an inheritance. They say he's alot like Jeremy in his riding style. His dad raced Bultaco's if I remember correctly. Anyway, I'm looking forward to some of these new guys doing well. No matter what country they are from... Wow, did I say that! Well anyway, say hi to the Mrs's for me... You're good people... Bob716SR
