Sorry estreet but even tho Stead is my favorite track I have to support the local folks at Fernley March 31st and April 1st. It is a combined OTHG / OTMX race. It is also part of a local series.... SMRA!

Wow, here we go again, local race in our backyard and yet there is always someone out there who has to post there negative thoughts. I am soooooo angry about what has happened to Northern Nevada riding because of the petty politics!!! The sad thing is that the riders lose out and will probably have to take up skate boarding........ My brother went to an OTHG/SMRA, Silver Peak meeting and he was totally disgusted by the greediness of not working together for our riders. Example: our local promoter who has done a great job building a track at Stead years back (keep in mind, this is BLM property and no promoter owns it) and has put on fun races, said numerous times after each race "it wasn't worth", so the another promoter from other the hill comes to town to put on a race for our locals and gets nothing but crap! Then our local promoter throws a fit that he does not want to work with any organization that supports the over-the-hill promoter (for a series) yet preaches to the choir how he will "do anything for the riders" hmmm and wants Stead to himself. Our local promoter claims it's because of moral and ethical issues, yet there were times at the races when he and the announcer got in a fist fit and had to have a riders meeting to apologize to the contestants. Or how about the arena cross where another fight takes place. Long story short, all promoters have had moral and ethical issues at one time or another. So the riders have to pay the price and travel out of the area to race rather than ride in their backyard. Just doesn't make sense! Thank you for ruining our sport! ...and yes I will sign my name, Beth Gonzales

Sorry Beth but you are the one being negative! SMRA and Silver Peak worked out a schedule for the entire year without stepping on each other. I guess you would not know that. Is Ernie your brother? If so he is a great guy and I had a blast racing with him at the last Fernley race. Mark Cody

Well damm! I usually just keep quiet and listen to all this B.S. that gets thrown around on here, but this is just stupid. I am originaly from CA and there was a time when Northern Nevada was a hot spot for motocross, and we were exicited to come over and race places like carson city, But the scene here is dead right now, rider turn outs are low, and pride for this sport is in the dumps. Im sorry, its time to stop giving a crap who is putting on the race, or whos doing what and go out and race! Nobody can seem to get along out here, and its killed northern Nevada motocross. If you want to go race the "Fern" oposed to stead, thats fine, make it because you want to ride the fern, not because of who is putting it on. Instead of thinking Fernely is my backyard, How about Northern Nevada is my backyard.

It is not a matter of who is putting it on this time. Northern Nevada has gotten together and planned races for the entire year. SMRA and Silver Peak worked out dates together. Even Silver Peak gave estreet a race for their series. Now estreet comes over and puts a race on over here when the OTHG /OTMX is putting a race on. That sucks in my book! Like I said it does not matter who is putting the race on but Northern Nevada does not need him coming over here and doing that. There are plenty of other weekends he could do. All he has to do is try and work with the sanctioning bodies that are here in Northern Nevada.

OK, gonna have to drag out the ol' electronic padlock for this thread.
As I stated in a previous thread on the Fallon series, we should have the respect to treat informational posts as just that. They should not be treated as invitations to confrontation. I think some of our seldom-heard-from guests are right in saying that the direction this post has taken will do no one any good.
If you would like to discuss the merits of this race, at least put it on a new thread. And please keep your complaints respectful and relevant. This old back-and-forth routine, in which everyone rehashes their same talking points, is wearing a bit thin. I think we all know where most of us stand on this issue.
P.S. I know you're from the Fern, Bob, so I didn't count your post in this scuffle.
