So how about Stewart's crazy night? He endured a scary heat race crash, a tangle with his buddy Chad in the main, and then had an apparent confrontation with Chad at the Kawasaki pits (in which he shoved Reed's bike off its stand.)
But it was cool to see Dungey and Weimer hold it together out front. It's shaping up to be an interesting year, though it appears we may have seen the end of Reed in SX with his broken hand.

Here's Bubba's take on the night...
01/17/2010 | PHOENIX SX: JAMES TALKS Posted by7:26 pm, by JS | Permalink | Category: Blog, News.
By now most of you have likely seen, read, or heard about my chaotic night at round number two of the Supercross series in Phoenix. Nothing seemed to go my way last night, but at the end of it all, I chalk most of the events up to an unfortunate string of bad luck! Here’s my take…
After setting the fastest overall lap in qualifying, I went into the night program feeling pretty good. In what can only really be described as an unfortunate racing incident, however, I ended up hobbling off the track after getting landed on in my heat race. I was in pretty bad shape, but I tried my best to get back out there to race for as many points as possible in the main event. After a rough start, I found myself battling mid-pack, which ended in a pileup on lap five with Reed. The accident itself was a bummer, but while I was getting up, CR hit me in the back of my head. Needless to say, I was pretty dissatisfied with his decision to do so, especially given the fact that it’s not the first time this has happened.
From there, I simply rode my best to salvage as many points as possible, and then after the race went straight back to the pits to have a chat with Chad about the incident. To say that I was frustrated at this point would be a huge understatement, so I think it was for the best that Chad, nor anyone from his team, could be found at their truck.
I want to race. That’s why I’m here. So to consistently have to look over my shoulder every time CR gets close has gotten really old. From where I sit, it sure seems like he has repeatedly tried to take me out, which makes me question his agenda.
Thank you all for your loyal support, and I look forward to the championship battle that lies ahead.
- James

I think Bubba needs to review the video's of both crashes. I just don't see Reed trying to take him out. I know everyone likes to bash on Reed and he's no angel. I just don't see a take out. I see a frustrated rider shoving James head off his arm, not a rider punching stewart in the back of the head. Just my opinion.

I also thought that the Reed/Stewart incident was pretty innocent. Stewart seemed to be trying to square back under Chad, and I don't think either of them could have avoided the contact after that. Truth be told, Reed probably could have punted Stewart in that situation had he wanted to--Stewart swung awfully wide on that entry for some reason.
As for the heat race crash, I have to hand the blame to Stewart. He scrubbed from one side of the triple to the other, which is an awful idea when you're in a pack (and especially if you jump as low as he does.)
But I think JBS will be back next week. He's a fighter.

The tap on Bubba's head was uncalled for. Just my opinion.

The tap on Bubba's head was uncalled for. Just my opinion. The AMA initially thought so too, fining Reed and giving him a one-race suspension right after the race. But when Kawasaki pointed out that Reed was simply trying to free his hand (which later turned out to be broken,) the punishment was dropped. Check out the video.

i have to say yes, it seems that everytime the two, (JBS CR) get close, its bad.. but sometimes theres dumping in the game we all like called supercross.. i agree with beaupre, that stewart should have known better than to scrub as he did in mid pack from side to side, in consequence gets landed on. then the scuffle with CR lap 5, i feel james could have avoided coming down into the corner so tight, and yes if CR wanted i agree, he could have punted him clear. then the push to the back of stewarts head, i see CR did nothing wrong.. if my hand or anythng, on top of a broken limb, i would have done the same thing. thats not a punch, a hit to the back the head, CR was freeing a limb from under stewart. For stewarts actions after the race, he needs more than just a warning. he needs to show some sportsmanship. stewart should take credit for this actions too, in which in his statement he didnt, and i read this statement from, www.racerxill.com, Phoenix race report.. " after the race, stewart goes to the kawasaki pits and pushes over chad reeds, bike.." come on stewart show some respect and class to the sport. he may truely be the fastest man on a motorcycle right now but have to say he's losing respect from me.. it too bad that reed will miss most, if not all supercross. he would have gotten more comfortable with his new ride and could have helped make a great season. guess we'll see how just mght be the next big name for supercrsoss..

TWM- If you happened to catch the racing on SPEED yesterday, you no doubt saw the much talked about collision between Stewart and Reed—after all, it was replayed nearly 100 times. Only a few laps into the main event, both riders were buried back in the pack and attempting to climb back towards the front. When Reed tried to cut underneath James who at the same time was squaring off the corner, the two riders came together, crashing on top of one another in the turn. Reed’s hand was pinned under Stewart, and as the two riders were getting up, Reed pushed at Stewart to free his hand. In the end, James remounted in tremendous pain to finish the race 15th while Chad returned to the pits to get his broken hand checked out. Following the race, according to reports from Kawasaki, Stewart stormed over to the Monster Energy Kawasaki pits to have a few words with Reed, but when no one was around—the team was at the medic truck getting Chad’s hand looked at—Stewart pushed Reed’s bike over. In the hours that followed, Stewart’s team made an official protest against Reed’s on-track actions. At first, Reed was given a penalty of a $5,000 fine and one race suspension, but upon appeal and review of the tapes, the penalty was lifted and Reed was only given a warning. All told, the entire situation wasn’t resolved until roughly 4:00 in the morning. There is no word yet on how long Reed will be out due to his broken hand, however, the report is that it might need surgery. As for Stewart, his 15th-place finish speaks for the amount of pain he must have been in during the race. No statement yet on his injuries, if any. In other news, we just received information that Boost Mobile/ampm/J-Law Racing’s Jason Lawrence went to the doctor following Anaheim I. It was discovered that the Yamaha rider has Mononucleosis and he is on bed rest as we type this. There hasn’t been an official release about his condition or when he might be returning to racing, however, we will be sure to keep you up to date as we hear. As you might be thinking, there was a lot more that happened this weekend, Dungey’s first win, Weimer’s second win, Hansen’s struggles, Doc Bodnar’s new medic Mule, and much more. But for all of that and more, check out the gigantic photo gallery below.

I have no love for CR but and the more i hear from stewart the more i hear a whining prima donna, first of all bubba boy needs to look at the tape of his heat race crash, his impatience got the better of him yet again and crossed under another riders line (partrige wasnt it?) and then if you watch the incident with CR bubba new he went wide in that corner and tried to cut the corner short because he knew reed would square it up and pass him. so in essence it was bubbas fault in both instences! if ya ask me he owes partrige an apology and reed too. if my broken hand was trapped under bubbas bike i would have pushed him a hell of alot harder than that. and as far as the temper tantrum he threw later...well lets just say somebody should have made his lip hurt along with his belly. I am so glad Dungy is bringin the noise! just my opinion...

Kyle Partridges point of view........ quotes: 'Okay heres the deal... I appreciate everyones comments and concernes on whether or not im okay.. When you have someone who is 4 seconds a lap faster than you,as james was over me in times in practice, who am I kidding making up 4 seconds a lap to me seems impossible hince the reason in every single post ive done ive told everyone i have the up most respect for James Stewart and the whole team. I know it may seem to you guys that it looked like i was going to over jump the triple but when someone is literally scrubbing from one side of the track to the other and goes underneath you then you lift the front wheel up... If you see one of the videos as someone else stated i tried all i could by taking my foot off and lifting as hard as possible... James is so good at staying low and carrying so much speed up the face off a triple and landing it perfectly it blows my mind how he does it... If you watch the lites class on TV you will notice a lot of guys coming up short on the second triple.. The reason this was happening is because the faces on the triples were a lot steeper than usual.. The length is the same week in and week out... While i was coming down before both of us hit the ground i was already on his back.. So he kind of drug me an extra 5 or 10 feet before we both hit the ground.. neither one of us rolled very far we hit the ground and stopped... I dont know what the confusion is here but like i said and this is getting a little out of hand I dont feel as if i was at fault at all... He came over on me in the air and we hit before either one of us landed so if i was over shooting the jump or not we both would have still crashed.'
'I dont think that the AMA should do anything... I agree it was a racing incident and it is what it is but, at the same time it was a racing incident that could have been prevented if james was a little more patient... I mean he had the heat race in the bag without a doubt i mean stroupe led the whole race.'
