Hi, This is Dee at Reno KTM. I am sitting here with our Service Manager, Bruce Barsumian, and this is the scoop.... As the weather gets colder, your bike will run leaner. You need to richen the pilot circuit by unscrewing the fuel mixture screw underneath the front of the carburetor. Turn the screw 1/2 turn at a time and test by riding. Give Bruce a call at the shop if you need further assistance. As always, he'll be happy to answer any questions you may have. Happy riding ;D

Or you could just look in the back of your KTM owners manual. There is a jetting chart for your bike that covers everything from 0' at -20* to 10,000' at over 100*. Just buy the right jets and follow the instructions. It's that easy!

Mark says to tell you that...the KTM manual doesn't take into account that local fuel supplies are now adding alcohol into the fuel for the winter months. This will lean out your mixture further than the manual expects. The solution is to run race fuel or be prepared to do addition jetting by feel. We're here if you need us. Hope this helps. ;DD

I have noticed that the jetting chart is not 100% with my bike but that is because I live in California and our gas always has alcohol in it. It is pretty close and a quick read of the spark plug will tell me what I need to do to get it spot on. Plus I keep notes of my jetting. I know what worked at what elevation and temperature. Then I can go through my notes and see what I used the last time I rode at 4000' at 50* or when I ride at 67' and 100*.
