How cool was it to see a healthy number of racers and a beserk crowd gathered upon a fun new venue? The racing was great, and it's been awhile since I've seen that many people so excited for a local race.
Look for photos and a race report on the home page shortly.

WOW! What a great time last night! There was soooo much good racing, I’m still all rev’d up over it all. The 125 pro main event, the dash for cash and what about that final 250 pro main of the night, it doesn’t get any better that that. Nate Tiearney was on fire! Nate as was riding borrowed bikes that are totally stock, the only thing done was jetting and a little fine tuning on the suspension. Other Pro’s that need some props that rode well to, was Rory Krien and our very own Robert! The Intermediates and school boy we saw Ryan Ferris, Aron Harvey, Brian Bodden, Wayne Appleton, Dakota May, Adam Conway and Chris Grant all had some fine rides. The freestyle show was exciting, with Paul Mudd doing his back flip in which was awesome, Kenny “the belly” Bell and Danny Tester busting out some cool tricks and the crowed was going nuts! It wasn’t just the Coors making them go crazy, it was just good tricks with a truly good vibe. O’l P.Mudd still goin big over the age of thirty and learning new tricks all the time… I want to give big props to the announcer Al, I heard him announce at Mustang and after listening to him for 14 hours straight……well he was like the energizer bunny, kick’n ass and taken names! During some of the main events Paul Mudd was helping with the announcing and doing a great job at that to. The track lay out was fun and safe and in turn lead for some great racing. So hats off to Ty and NMXD crew for doing such and good job, they should all be proud for putting on such a fine event. What about those hamburgers that the guy was cooking!? Good times! peace-n-wheelies, Layne

This what someone sent me in a pm! Riders please let me know what you think about this.
I personally did not see that many people getting hurt including myself. I saw people going down and getting up and finishing the race. Arena Cross, Motocross, Supercross, etc.... is a sport where if you take the chance, yes you can get hurt. I had one of the best weekends I have had in a long time. I love the variety that MxWestRacing brings to us. Long Tracks, Short Tracks, Technical and Safe Tracks. For the record, I did not see one ambulance the entire two days (Practice & Racing). This guy should try and race one of these races and he may just love the heck out of it. For the record.... there was not one unsafe jump out there! They were actually pretty easy except for the finish line double. I did not do that one!

Gee, I bet I know where that PM came from!
Sorry, I'll learn eventually!
There were no more crashes than during any other event. The only issue was the finish double and the problem there was that some riders did the jump that should not have!
It's hard for some kids to realize their limits.

From what I saw while in the stands, it is inaccurate to say the least. Sure there were crashes. It is Motocross. I only heard of ONE person on a backboard, and the announcer later announced that the rider WAS ok. To my knowledge, NO career-interrupting injuries were incurred at Gardnerville! I think the writer of that PM was uninformed (or mis-informed).
