Boy was I surprised when I got to the track about noon Sunday. Had some car issues to deal with before I left but knew it was blowing harder out there than in Reno. Never ever seen outhouses blown over so I think the decision to cancel was a good one. Didn't need to have riders blown off the track when they are flying over jumps. In fact, while years ago a race was canceled at Fernley due to the snow being at handlebar height, this is the first time I know of when wind caused the race to be scrubbed. So this week the racing article, in the Daily Sparks Tribune, will be a profile rather than a report on an event. Just glad everyone is safe. And even though I know it was hard, kudos to the club for doing the right thing.

I arrived at the track about 6am and it was ridiculous! beautifull weather from Susanville then when I got past Mustang it started getting ugly, then uglier, the closer I got to Fernley. I was dissapointed that the wind didn't die down, but happy that I was able to ride some anyways even though the weather sucked, being out riding was better than doing chores around the house.
