Im looking at getting either a a header or silencer for my bike (ktm 450) and was wondering which one would be more beneficial first. I heard these ktms really open up with an exhaust system. Also any brands recommended. DDR got.good ratings in twmx. Thanks

In fact, I probably wouldn't bother with a header until you've swapped the muffler since most headers are designed to work with the same brand of muffler anyway. If you think you'll go for both eventually, I'd save up for a complete system since many slip-on mufflers are designed to work with the stock header only.

Ok, thanks. Maybe santa will bring CASH Any brands in particular that you prefer? I am having a hard time finding tests/shootouts/etc. on different brands. A lot of people seem to like the pro circuit and the power curve is more linear, but Dubach's package also got great reviews but may be a bit more expensive. Any Idea how the Yosh and other brands match up?

I couldn't tell you on the KTM, though I've found on my CRF that the PC was more barky while the DRD was a bit more linear--like the stock curve only a bit meatier everywhere. Tony Evans, can you offer some orange-bike advice?

Orange-bike mafia! lol, Thanks for the help, the drd system looks/sounds like a good fit, and the stainless option is loads cheaper! I like the linear feel, being a shorter rider that bark can be a pain in the A55
