So, the stead race was promoted as a 150% Pro payback...nowhere did it state that if you are a 20+, 30+, or 40+ pro that this did not apply to you But you answered your own question, no where does it say... 150% pro pay back for +20 or +30 pros or pro classes... . It states pro class, the others you mention are different classes. Sounds like you didnt have such a fun weekend.

Idk about the rule book, but there's no one on the line to inspect the equipment anyway While that may be true, if you get protested the rulebook will win

Calder Park in Winnemucca LACR in Palmdale, CA Mammoth Mountain Hollister Silver State Raceway (R.I.P.) Stead Exit28
Those not in any order, but they bring some great memories... But as I think about it Calder Park is and was my favorite of all time.

There any many things that have the motocross world in a downward motion and keeping it in a holding pattern.... But there are ways to help get moving upwards!
The economy is a big issue with motocross. The lack of money and the higher costs of racing is hurting the sport everywhere, it's not just here. As for Wal-Mart doing well it because people are watching every dollar they spend and its cheap to buy things there, that is why Wal-Mart is doing well. But I don't think the economy is all the issue.
We all draw from a small rider base, racers are looking to quality events. Which isnt much, good track safe track with prep, be treated fairly when there is an issue, moto's ran smooth as possible... the biggest thing is to keep the event fun!!!
The demise of our local motocross is the division of the rider base. Stop and look at the consistent wedge placed with the base, and when something happens there seems to be that unforgettable or forgivable stance thrown into place. I heard it today, I don't go to those races or that track because blah..blah.. It seems like lots of personal issues in place. We as a collective group need to let things pass and focus on the future! Sure we all have opinions, but sometimes they need to be put aside for the common good of the sport. The bad part is seeing the same mistakes being made over and over again... it's just pure insanity. It seems like there is a constant power struggle over who is doing what, never a minute given to help make it better at times. Maybe a little more give than take by some parties it could work better for all....Stop and look, a series with in a series but yet it doesn't include anybody else? Is that what's good for the sport? I don't think so. No doubt the racers will suffer in some form, it puts a line in the dirt. I hope I'm wrong and I wish the best of luck..but history seems to repeat its self..It's happened before and failed, why think it will work now is besides me. But that's just my opinion... It drives just another wedge, making our already small group even more divided. The pie is only so large and you can only cut it up so many times...There is no one person to blame and until the majority work together we are in for a wild ride that nobody will win...But there is only so much to worry about, I'm going to focus on help making the events the OTHG puts on the best they can be and have fun riding and racing myself, and with my fellow motoheads.
Lets address a few things.. 1. The original Fernley track received a major face lift in 2013. (OG track) It was very expensive. That yellow iron is pricey to run and the fuel it uses isn't cheap. The OTHG spent a fair amount of coin changing it
2. Two stroke or Four, they are both every expensive to buy! Look at the prices. That in its self hurts the sport. Sure the up keep is cheaper on a smoker, but the parts they use are just as much. Tires, chains and sprockets, ect....
3. We all use expendable income to race and for the majority we all have less of that and really think about where we ride or race. We compete against the mall, movies, dinner and indoor go carting to name a few things for those dollars.
4. Fernley is shared by two clubs! The OTHG ( Over The Hill Gang) and the formerly known as the OTMX (Old Timers MX) which is now Club MX775
5. Constant bashing surely doesnt help the sport. In life we all deal with or work with that we either dont like or hate but we still do it. If you dont go to a race because you dont like the promoter, the only person you hurt is yourself. You might miss the best race of the year or find out what a great job that group/promoter does...step out of the zone! And let the past be the past and look to the future.
In closing....Why can't a local series include all the tracks? It could and would be a 775 series. One or two races per track or promoter. Keep it simple and a TRUE Nevada state championship
Oh yeah, I'm a member of the OTHG... Layne
