I liked what moto said about gas prices bad choice of words oil companies brag how big their profit is each quarter. LOL Ummm the point with that is and was, the price of fuel directly effects the hard cost of having a race. That yellow equipment doesn't run on free or discounted fuel nor does the water truck, not to mention the costs of getting the equipment delivered to the venue. They've all gone up quite a bit especially with the costs of fuel being so high. It's unfortunate but I don't see the costs of anything coming down. It's too bad but it's just a fact.

Flaggers, the most unappreciated job out there. Before you b**** and call them names, step up and do it a race or two. Then have a different understanding of what the job entails. As many are proving its thankless work, that isn't as easy as you may think. I have bob, the job entails long hours sitting in the sun, little to no breaks, maybe some food... I get it. But if they volunteer they should be in a spot where they can see their assigned portions and you usually can't do that sitting in your lawn chair Bob?? Must be awesome to be perfect and not make a mistake in life! lol!!! All good, I didn't see it... but it sounds like your being a bit hard on the flaggers...

when did this crap start where riders have to pay $10 at the gate AND pay to ride. I've never seen that before until this year. Sorry its been like that for years! Honey Lake, Stead, Fernley and Exit28 have been doing that for a long time.... This helps cut back the time in line to get into the track and any issues signing u.

Beginner riders are NOT permitted to ride in the 50cc, 65cc, 85cc open classes or School Boy Class. This is a safety issue, beginners should not be on the track with intermediate riders. Well what about us "age defined" classes, 20+ begginer were ran with 40+ expert? The guy running the gate and taking roll call was dropping us under one gate until it was agreed that it wasn't a good idea. So what's the difference? Your 65 begginer won't keep up with 65 intermediate in an open scenario they won't even see each other on the track. I don't see a safety issue with any open class that's why it's called open. Run watcha brung The difference??? I'd hope its the experience and thought process is situations, adults have that over kids... Life experience, knowing what certain out comes may lead to...

How do People feel about the $10 per person gate fee on Sunday. That's a lot for a family of Four just to go watch their kid ride. why can we just go back to the $5 per person gate fees
You should of ask, who likes the cost of diesel fuel being 4 gallon or gas being over 3 bucks a gallon or the cost of insurance or transport fees going up for the equipment, or the lease on the property... I could go on for a while, not one person ever wants to raise a fee. But sometimes it has to be done. The fees are no more than over the hill or in our area. It's unfortunate but cost have go up and it some point that cant be absorbed anymore and must be passed down. I know it sucks. But races are very expensive. The amount of staff to run a race at 28 goes from 3 people during a practice to 15 on a race weekend. Insurance goes from 150.00 to over. 600.00 per day. We have no choice but to charge 10.00 gate fees. The cost is not to just watch your kids race. It's the cost to supply them with added safety, ambulances, liability insurance and staffing. Go to any club meeting. They will show you the costs. It will blow you away how expensive they are. Racing is still relatively affordable if you think about how much the promoter risks, bad weather, low turnouts cost promoters 1000.00's of dollars. Support the tracks!!! Without the promoters risking a lot for 10.00 gate fees your kids would not have closed circuit racing. None profit, doesn't mean you can make a profit on your event. It's what you do with it that holds you accountable. Doesn't mean you can't pay your volunteers either. I know the OTHG as many that do it for nothing except the love of the sport and others volunteer to do jobs that we financially compensate them for their time. They obviously don't or can't make a living just working a few mx races. So, where does the money come from when races don't turn a profit?
Flaggers, the most unappreciated job out there. Before you b**** and call them names, step up and do it a race or two. Then have a different understanding of what the job entails. As many are proving its thankless work, that isn't as easy as you may think.
Paying your gate fee at the gate and buying your entry at sign up, that isn't new! Many have been doing that for a very long time. Honey Lake, Exit28, OTHG/Fernley...I could go on. On practice days everything is collected at the gate to help prevent poaching. We collect only gate fees at the gate on race day, to get the people thru the gate faster, and it's easier for use to account for what's happening at sign up.
